About Fantasyland

Fantasyland is one of the original lands of Disneyland. Some consider it to be the "main" land of Disneyland because of the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle. The Sleeping Beauty Castle is based on the late-19th century Neuschwanstein Castle that is located in Bavaria, Germany.

Originally when Fantasyland opened on July 17, 1955 Fantasyland had a Renaissance motif. In 1983 Fantasyland went through a major renovation to match a Bavarian village. Fantasyland is very popular with the younger crowd as it has many rides that can be rode by visitors of all ages.
