Disney Mugs!

I received Disney mugs as a gift recently. I got matching Mickey and Minnie Disney mugs!

They are part of the "Quotes" line and I am really impressed with them. They are well made and quite large. I was surprised how heavy they were too. I think that is a good thing though as they aren't easy to knock over.

I think mugs are great souvenirs and make great gifts.  A couple years ago I received a Mickey Mouse mug featuring Mickey's face on one side and "Oh Boy!" on the other.

That particular mug  is still holding up too. I personally hand wash the mugs instead of running them through the dishwasher. I really think that is the best way to care for them. Also don't leave any liquids (whether it be coffee, milk, or juice that is in the mug) and wash it right away after using it. I haven't tested running them through the dishwasher but I think that because I hand wash them they still look brand new.

These make great gifts or souvenirs but how to get them home in one piece? Don't worry they pack them really well. It actually took a little bit for me to completely open them as they were wrapped in tissue paper AND some kind of interesting brown packing paper as well. They weren't going to break with that kind of wrapping! Of course there's always buying your souvenirs after or even before going to Disneyland. Check out my personal Disney Mug favorites:

Disney Trading Pins

I am a HUGE Disney Trading Pin collector. I have two lanyards and a cork board full of pins. I even have the Nightmare Before Christmas Collectors Pin Set:
My NBC Limited Edition Pin Set
How did my collection start?
My family always booked with getawaytoday.com and (I don't know if they still do) they would always give us a pin and lanyard for booking with them. That was the start of it all. I thought they were so neat. A couple years later on a trip with my aunt and cousins, my aunt said we could each pick out a souvenir. I picked out the special 2005 "Magical Milestones" Starter Pin Collection:

This let me experience trading for the first time because this set came with 4 pins (2 1955 Tinker Bell and 2 2005 Tinker Bell). Fast forward to another trip we went for my birthday and my mother said I could pick out a gift. This was surprising to me because just going to Disneyland in itself is the best birthday gift ever! So I said I wanted pins... oh boy... I got pins :) I got a couple and I loved them all and still have them all. Some pins I'll never trade while others I'm starting to get duplicates on purpose. I truly love all of them though and can't get enough of them :)

Oh, Boy!

Today's the start of something new and exciting! A new Disney blog. I live in California and have been to Disneyland so many times now I'm starting to lose count! My first trip to Disneyland was at the young age of 6 with my family. The first trip I was hooked. A couple years later I went again this time with my Girl Scout troop. It definitely was a different experience going with another group that wasn't my family. After this there were more trips with family and trips with various groups including my high school band. I even had my Honeymoon there! A whole week including a meal at Club 33, what more could a Disney girl ask for? My last trip was Christmas 2011 and my next trip may in fact be at the end of this year or sometime in 2014 (I'm hoping).
